We are looking for highly motivated PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers & staff.

Postdoctoral researchers:

November 2024: The Ruediger lab has an opening for a postdoc with experience in contemporary systems neuroscience approaches, including in vivo electrophysiology (large-scale extracellular recordings: e.g. Neuropixels probes) or two-photon imaging (bench-top imaging or miniature two-photon imaging), as well as computational neuroscience approaches.

Application Deadline 18.12.2024

Previous expertise in experimental approaches, rodent behaviour, genetic disease models, or a solid computational background will be a big plus in tackling the projects. As the group is starting, we are looking for fellows keen to play a pivotal role in all facets of the project, encompassing experimental design, execution, data analysis, and the effective communication and sharing of outcomes. We will develop project ideas together based on shared research interests and will help you achieve your career objectives.
We currently have one open position for an experimental postdoctoral researcher, which is fully funded. In addition, we will support fellowship applications for national and international postdoctoral funding to strengthen the fellow’s scientific track record. The grant writing process will not only help us develop well-defined and testable hypotheses but will also allow us to get a sense of how we think individually and how we can best work together.
Here are some of the funding schemes that may be of potential interest:

Graduate students:

Curiosity, motivation to learn, and enthusiasm for research are most important for a PhD student position. You don't need extensive experience in particular techniques, but some basic knowledge of computer programming and analytical methods used in neuroscience is a big plus. You should be excited to learn new experimental techniques and analytical approaches and be ready to develop the skills continuously throughout your studies.
We can take students from various doctoral programmes at UCL, including:
Master Students & Research Assistants:

As a Master's student or research assistant wanting to join the lab, you must be excited about doing science and developing your research skills. We will develop a project with a well-defined scope that allows you to tackle a small project within a realistic time frame. Master student and research assistant positions are excellent opportunities to experience science in action and guide your choices for your next career stage.

We currently have an open position for a research assistant with a background in programming/data science to support the development of data analysis pipelines and novel approaches to analyse the neuronal activity of large populations of cells acquired using Neuropixels recordings and/or two-photon calcium imaging data during behaviour.
